Terms of service
Last updated 27 Sep 2026.
These terms cover using Indie Games Show. Using the site means accepting them. They are short on purpose.
Your account
- One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself; what happens under your account is treated as yours.
- You must be 13 or older to make an account.
- Give a real email address. We use it to confirm the account and to let you back in when you forget your password.
What you post
- You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting it here you let us show it on the site and in the places that promote the site.
- Post only what you have the right to post. A listing must be for a game you make or represent.
- Not allowed: pornographic or sexually explicit material, content sexualising minors, harassment, threats, hate, spam, scams, malware, doxxing, or breaking the law. Violence and horror in games are fine; that is not what this is about.
- Do not manipulate votes, reviews or visibility — multiple accounts, bought votes, coordinated brigading. Position on this site comes from the community, and that is the one thing we will defend hardest.
- Private feedback to a developer is private. Do not republish it to embarrass someone.
How voting works
- Community Picks run by the week: a week opens on Monday at 00:00 UTC and closes seven days later. Every eligible account has 3 selections a week.
- To take part, an account must be signed in, have a confirmed email address, be at least 7 days old and not be suspended. Team accounts (moderators, editors, admins, founders) do not vote.
- One selection per game per week, and never for your own game. While the week is open you can release a selection and choose another game; a closed week is not changed.
- Giving a reason is optional. The reason helps the developer; it does not change the ranking.
- Supporting a game (the heart) is separate from Picks: one per account per game, and you can take it back.
- No paid boosts and no publisher influence. When a sudden burst of support comes mostly from brand-new accounts, its weight is reduced and a person on the team looks at it.
Moderation
A listing is reviewed before it goes public. We may hide, remove or refuse content, and suspend or remove an account, when these terms are broken. Serious or repeated cases can be permanent. If you think a decision was wrong, write to info@indiegamesshow.com and a human will look again.
Money
Listing is free and stays free. Nothing on this site can be bought: not a ranking, not a badge, not a faster review. Donations, where offered, happen on other platforms and buy nothing here. Verification is a trust signal, not a paid plan.
Other people's content
Listings, comments and store links come from members and from the stores those games are sold on. We do not sell those games, and we cannot promise a listing is accurate or a game is finished. If you think something here infringes your rights, write to info@indiegamesshow.com with what it is and why, and we will act on it.
The site itself
The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it up and keep your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be down, never lose anything, or never make a mistake. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from using it.
Ending it
You can stop using the site and ask for your account to be deleted at any time. We can close an account that breaks these terms. Some records — moderation and security logs — are kept afterwards, as the privacy policy explains.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and the site says so. Carrying on using the site after that means accepting the new version.
